Moonbird is a video opera, an hybrid piece that blends cinema, video-art and music.
With the direction by visual artist and film maker Ra di Martino.
With Silvia Calderoni & Manfredi Beninati.

The video installation of the opera is now showing at MAMBO (Bologna’s Museum Of Modern Art, Italy).
The live performance of the opera is called MOONBIRD VARIATIONS, musicians play live, scoring the film.

Moonbird is the story of a man that isolates himself from the world.
In his villa he leads a quit life, until one day a bird hits the villa's window.

What it looks like an insignificant event will turn the protagonist's perfect-world upside down.
The house itself will start singing, the bird that the man buried in his garden will appear in his dreams at night.
In a feverish state, reality and dreams melt into one as the man's journey in the underworld has began.
